Hey, folks!
Just warning any of my stalkers or fans that, as I just realized that the summer is halfway over for me, I'll probably be cracking down on my curricular activities preparing for the school year. I need to finalize lesson plans, get my purchase orders submitted, find a daycare for Erin...
Oh, didn't I mention? I'M AN ART TEACHER NOW.
I know, I can't believe it either! I'll be teaching at a private Christian school, kindergarten through eighth grades, starting this August (but July if you count teacher work days). How awesome to finally have a job in my field AND I get to love on awesome kids all day AND I'm getting paid way better than my last job AND the hours are better AND Erin will be right across the street! God provides!
Yes, I'm very blessed that I've had this summer free from my last job to prepare for this new opportunity. When I quit the customer service job I had before, I didn't expect to get offered this position although I had applied several weeks earlier. I was planning on being a full-time homemaker and mommy. It was a blessing to be home, but just when we realized it couldn't be long-term for financial reasons, I got a phone interview with the headmaster of the school! DID I MENTION GOD PROVIDES? It'll be so rewarding to be able to teach art to such a wide range of students. And, maybe, once they've branching the school up to a high school next year, I'll be offered a position teaching math instead. The headmaster was thrilled with my background in both areas. See, kids, it pays to go for the double-major, even if it's a weird combo like mathematics and illustrative art.
We're still waiting to hear about the job opportunity for EG that was originally hinted as headed his way a year ago, but he's finally had a phone interview and submitted his application for that one. If it happens, our income would effectively DOUBLE this quarter so we're still hopeful about that too. SO MUCH MONEYS, WHAT TO DO WITH IT ALL??? (hmmm, more babies....)
